CSX's Indiana sub runs from Cincinatti Ohio west to Washington Indiana and is the former Baltimore and Ohio railroad's St Louis mainline. While no longer a through route, the line sees primarily eastbound trains from Louisville, joining the subdivision at Seymour for the run to Cincinatti. Until recently this line still was largely equipped with the classic and distinctive B&O Color Position Light signal system. With rumors circulating about signal upgrades, we made the trek from NJ to document these sentinels of the B&O. We visited in April of 2024 and only 6 weeks later, signal work commenced. The first segment to be changed was from Seymour to Mitchell where only a local runs 6 days a week. This video was released on 8/21/25, one day after the next segment was changed from Butlerville to West Milan, leaving only one section from Milan to Lawrenceburg remaining. That section is expected to be done next.
This video is a photo slide show of my photos taken on my visit on Wednesday April 24, 2024 and is arranged in an east to west order, mainly the order in which they were taken from Lawrenceburg to Washington Indiana. The portion east of Lawrenceburg to Cincinatti was already changed over several years earlier. These photos are of the signals and equipment associated with them
