You can't transform yourself, you can't make yourself sane, you can't make yourself loving, you can't make yourself unselfish. And yet it's absolutely necessary that we be that way if we are going to hand over the direction of nature to nature, which is what it comes to. It's absolutely necessary that we let go of ourselves, our ego. You can't do it by doing it, acting, willing, or accepting, you can't do it, why?
Alan Watts discusses the meaning of life and human existence, history, the past and the future. Humans have a very simple kind of mind, they keep things in simple crude order and understanding, and they cannot understand the wiggly natural nature of the environment and our bodies and minds.
