New Donk City is Strange

Super Mario Odyssey is a triumph of a game, but New Donk City, specifically the traditional festival mission, gets weirder and weirder the more you think about it. Based on the setting of the original Donkey Kong game, the residents of The Metro Kingdom have a borderline obsession with the past. There's also some weird geographical questions that are to be raised when you think about how it fits in with its setting, which is supposed to be New York City. But yeah that Traditional Festival Celebration part of the game is really weird because it seems like they sacrifice another Donkey Kong? I don't know, man. I don't know.
