Peter Parker Suite | Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (Original Soundtrack) by John Paesano

I remember in the last suite, I talked about how this game cemented Miles' theme as my preferred Spider-Man theme. After completing this suite, I realized just how amazing Peter's theme is. It's heroic and grand, portraying more of a hero in his prime than Miles' more scrappy and young Spider-Man. It's already an iconic, memorable theme, with those rushing strings and grand brass and choir statements that show Peter's heroism and drive. What Paesano does with his theme in this game is simply incredible however, using dark, distorted electronics and strings to turn his theme into his possessed, nightmare version of what it once was once the Symbiote takes over him. His fight over control being aided by a mournful violin solo of his theme, with wailing choir adding to the tragedy of his takeover. And that's what makes Peter's theme my preferred Playstation Spider-Man theme; at the heart of how heroic it is, it tells the tale of Peter's tragedy and suffering so immensely well. That in spite of all he has been through, he perseveres and fights on.
It's also important to note that the beginning few minutes are technically MJ's theme, though I didn't make a suite of it given limited variations and how much of a nightmare it would've been to edit. But at the same time, MJ's theme has the same beginning notes as Peter's before ending in a different manner, so it's more of a slight alteration of Peter's musical material than anything. Will make a suite of it one day though.
