Lum uninvites you

An AMV based on Urusei Yatsura with the song Uninvited by Alanis Morissette.

The lyrics are performed by Lum and are aimed towards her other suggested love interest, Mendou.

I hope you enjoy it.

The vid is completely driven by the lyrics. So I shall use the lyrics and then explain the scenes.

*Like anyone would be
I am flattered by your fascination with me*

Basically Lum is telling Mendou she can tell he likes her - Its a flashback followed by her remembering a memory, then another flashback of telling him. Then onto another Lum alone scene.

*Like any hot-blooded woman
I have simply wanted an object to crave*

She now explains how she feels. This is just her personal feelings and is all said alone.
(I decided to put a little comedy into the part by making her point directly at her eye when she says 'I' Smiley)

She is singing to a picture of Mendou, because she would never tell him directly.

But you, you're not allowed

A very accusing point obviously followed by a scene of Mendou.
The boat scene is her remembering how she told Mendou he isn't allowed to be with her.

You're uninvited

Split screen Mendou/Lum, then he theoretically walks in even though he's uninvited.

An unfortunate slight

Lum remembering telling Mendou the bad news, they were not meant to be together. Then Mendou's reaction.
I then put a few other 'memory' bits in before the next line.

*Must be strangely exciting
To watch the stoic squirm*

Lum sings this, (Mendou is the stoic here, even though it could be construed as Ataru). The scene shows his indifference.

*Must be somewhat heartening
To watch shepherd need shepherd*

Lum sings this alone! But it refers to Mendou being the popular male, and her being the popular female, and how he seems to 'need' her.

But you you're not allowed

Lum remember's telling Mendou he is not allowed, and his reaction.

*You're uninvited
An unfortunate slight*

Lum singing this part, then remembering his reaction again.
Then a set of scenes telling a little story of Lum being good natured towards Mendou after an incident with Ataru.

*Like any uncharted territory
I must seem greatly intriguing*

Lum saying she understands how Mendou feels. Then the next scene is of Mendou looking at Lum (while she is unconscious) with concern/hesitation.


*You speak of my love like
You have experienced love like mine before*

Lum again echoing the words Mendou has expressed to her in the past.

But this is not allowed

Memories of Mendou being too forward with his affections with her.

You're uninvited

Lum getting angry at the memory with another accusing point.

An unfortunate slight

A scene from the past of her holding some roses, then Mendou cutting one of them down. Metaphorically Mendou is trying to cut through the barrier Lum has place between them.

Lum obviously is distressed by this and zaps him, he goes running off and Lum later on finds him, and has a chat with him.

*I don't think you unworthy
I need a moment to deliberate*

This is Lum admitting Mendou isn't unworthy. As soon as she starts to deliberate - Every scene is how Lum regards how things could be, if she were to ever let it happen. Obviously the video ends after the last thought...
