2019 proved to be the busiest year in our 144 year history. In total, we responded to 33,296 calls for service, including 244 working structure fires. Our 10 engines and 2 truck companies in the City of Modesto, protecting a population of approx. 215,000, handled 31,890 calls for service and 230 working structure fires. The 3 engine companies protecting the City of Oakdale and Oakdale Rural Fire Protection District, as of July 1, handled 1,406 calls for service and 14 working structure fires.
As we continue to respond to more calls for service and grow geographically, the mission of your Modesto firefighters continues to remain the same, provide the highest quality of service possible. We are excited about what was accomplished in 2019 and are equally excited about what’s to come in 2020!
