EA189 2.0 TDI Timing Belt Installation Guide

We continue working on the 2012 Škoda Octavia equipped with the 2.0 TDI diesel engine (CFHC, EA189, 103 kW). In the previous video, we disassembled the timing system, aligned all timing marks, and removed all components. Now it’s time for the assembly.

In this video, I’ll show you step-by-step how to install every part of the timing drive: the water pump, tensioner pulley, idler pulleys, and the timing belt itself. You’ll learn the correct installation sequence, how to properly route the belt around the crankshaft, camshaft, and high-pressure fuel pump, and which bolts should be replaced versus which can be reused (with correct torque and thread treatment). Special focus will be on timing alignment and proper belt tensioning.
