The much-anticipated 57th "Hilltop Radiance" College Day Celebration 2025 of Jawaharlal Nehru College (JNC), Pasighat, East Siang District, Arunachal Pradesh, kicked off today with a grand inaugural ceremony at the JNC Football Playground. The three-day event is scheduled to run from November 9th to 11th, 2025. The inaugural ceremony was distinguished by the presence of several eminent guests from the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and the local assembly.
Chief Guest: Mr P.D. Sona, Hon’ble Minister for Education, Rural Works, Parliamentary Affairs, Tourism & Libraries, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh.
Guest of Honour: Mr Ojing Tasing, Hon’ble Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Cooperation & Transport, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh.
As Special Guests Mr Ninong Ering, Hon’ble MLA, 37-Pasighat West (ST) Assembly Constituency.
Mr Tapi Darang, Hon’ble MLA, 38-Pasighat East (ST) Assembly Constituency.
The dignitaries were formally welcomed by the college Principal, Dr. Tasi Taloh, and members of the Jawaharlal Nehru College Students' Union (JNCSU), including General Secretary Miss Yapung Nemi and Union Advisor Mr Enuk Libang.
The morning programme began at 9:30 am and followed a meticulously planned minute-to-minute program, showcasing the college's pride and spirit.
The program started at 10:00 am with the reception of the Hon'ble Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, and Special Guests, followed by the ceremonial garlanding of Nehru's
Miss Yapung Nemi, General Secretary of the JNCSU, presented the memorandum on behalf of the students.
The celebration's official start was marked by the Hoisting of the College Day Celebration Flag by the Hon'ble Chief Guest. This was immediately followed by the impressive March-Past and the administration of the oath to the athletes, setting the tone for the sporting events to follow.
The Chief Guest Hon’ble minister P. D sona addressed that following a detailed discussion with the Student Union Executive Members led by General Secretary Ms. Yapung Hemi, addressing a memorandum outlining key infrastructure needs for the college. The overall intent is to augment the college to make it "more vibrant, more beautiful, and more useful."
The proposal for the Construction of Boundary Walls was identified as the topmost priority for institution security and protection. He offered an unequivocal commitment to include funding for the Boundary Wall in the upcoming Budget Estimate proposal. The Public Works Department was advised to immediately prepare and submit the necessary estimate for the project when the BE proposal submission window opens. The college administration is required to submit one reminder to the speaker's office.
The speaker indicated a high likelihood of approval for at least one of the two following projects, with a strong overall commitment to fund "at least two, definitely" out of the three infrastructure requests.
The college authorities were directed to prepare and submit the necessary estimate for the drainage system for the jnc Football ground
The college authorities were also directed to prepare the required design and estimate for the Construction of a College Welcome Gate at the highway
The day culminated in the ceremonial Lighting of the Olympic Torch by the Hon’ble Chief Guest, officially declaring the College Day Celebration open.
The inaugural segment concluded with an energetic Mega Dance performance, followed by the distribution of participation certificates and the felicitation of the best walk-past contingent.
The programme was a successful blend of official proceedings, cultural pride, and sporting enthusiasm, paving the way for the three-day festivities and competitive events ahead.
