After installing a new (sonylaptopbattery.co.uk) battery on an old 2012 Sony Viao Laptop running ChromeOS the laptop developed a shutdown fault when the CPU gets warm.
Removal of the new battery and replacing it with the original battery sadly did not resolve the problem and the laptop is now permanently broken.
