Hello Everyone!
Today I’m gilding seashells the easy way. Not with a brush and gold leaf foil, rather I’m using spray paint in a metallic gold color. This simple, fast project is a great way to elevate beach décor and bring a little sparkle into the room.
For this project you’ll need seashells, gold and silver spray paint, rubber bands, masking tape and something to make fun shapes with. I used paper cut outs, but a piece of lace would also work wonderfully.
I like having a bit of contrast in my bowl, so I included non-gilded shells with the gilded ones and also didn’t paint the shells solid gold or silver. Well, some of them I did.
But wrapping the tape, rubber bands and paper cut outs around the shells produced some great shapes and allowed a bit of the shell’s natural beauty to shine thought as well.
I was really pleased with the result and think that this is a great project to bring a bit of the beach and summer into the home all year round.
Below I’ve linked the products needed to make your own gilt seashells at home.
