Turn trash into treasure! 🌊 In this eco-friendly DIY project, we transform old cardboard, leftover glass, styrofoam, and basic arts & crafts supplies into a large ocean-themed photo frame that's both beautiful and sustainable. Perfect for displaying beach memories, sea-inspired art, or just bringing coastal vibes into your space.
♻️ Materials used:
Recycled cardboard
Discarded glass panel
Old styrofoam scraps
Paint, glue, shells, and more!
Steps -
1. Measure and cut your cardboard. You will need three panels: the front and back (Size of the photo cut out the middle) and the middle (Size of the glass cut out the middle).
2. Glue the three panels together with the glass fitting perfectly into the middle layer. Let dry.
3. Cut coral shapes from discarded Styrofoam trays and glue them onto the front of the frame.
4. Cover with glue mix (1 part water, 4 parts glue) and crumpled paper towels. Make sure to push in the edges and remove air pockets. The edges fold around to the back. Once done, dry overnight.
5. Paint to preference. Acrylic or craft paints work best.
6. Cover with clear water-based sealant.
