"The Speed Demon Hunter" Lamborghini Diablo SV vs NFS Hot Pursuit

The Diablo SV was a creation following the success of the Countach and it did not disappoint. Following its baseline older brother, the Diablo SV's performance was an improvement over its predecessors, even though it was still a RWD in a time where AWD was beginning to integrate itself with supercars. The Diablo SV quickly became an icon of the '90s along with several other supercars and would be a car featured in many games for years to come: the most notable of which being NFS 3, the original Hot Pursuit, as its cover car.

In Hot Pursuit Remastered, the Diablo SV is a Tier 4 Exotic/Speed Enforcement vehicle. It has average speed for the class, decent acceleration, nitrous power and handling, and below average durability. While not a bad car, it certainly requires skill to be driven to its fullest potential.

As an SCPD vehicle, it was the first car in its ranks that could naturally exceed 200mph (the McLaren F1 would not join the ranks until 1998). As such they were put in a new tier for the SCPD at the time, simply called "Elite Squadron." The SVs in the SCPD would remain a well-kept secret, only appearing in the occasional large scale anti-street race operation. Racers seeing these cars in their rear view mirror would call them "The Speed Demon Hunters," and few would ever tell about them until the SCPD officially revealed them to the public in 1998. Of course by then, the McLaren F1s was unveiled alongside it and fear would be in the hearts of racers until the underground company Hudsen Tech was established. The Diablos would for the longest time be the soul and sole vehicle of Elite Squadron, until the SCPD's squadron system was reorganized. Elite Squadron was renamed "Gold Squadron," and the Diablos were replaced. However, like its older brother: the Countach, all models now remain in the hands of Legacy Squadron, and are still used in Tier 4 Pursuits to this day.
