Persona 3 Reload is being ported to the Switch 2?? Perfect time to cover another song from the franchise!!

I remember hearing Color Your Night in the game for first time and just stopping my exploring just to listen to it. I immediately wanted to do something with this song as it grew on me, but wasn't sure how to approach it since I mainly cover instrumental tracks.

Welp, it was time I'd try something new. I sing and rap now I guess? LOL. I was stoked to be able to film at a courtyard with big lights in the evening as it reminded me of Paulownia Mall. A special shoutout to my cameraman Richlee for working with those lighting conditions as well as audio engineering my vocals at the studio.

For the arrangement I approached it with an R&B style intro and a slightly more laid back feel compared to the original. I also played the drums with a heaver swing and less metronomic, while keeping most of the other instruments and musical elements integral to the original.

Of course, I couldn't tackle this cover alone, so I had my good friends giocko and Joe (JD Winds) on horns. Joe also got a new organ recently, and so why not showcase it here too?

Speaking of keyboards, I felt this was an opportune time to also feature Ruscel Torres on piano! I've collaborated on his channel for his band Crash Course, album Reeds and Seeds, and many other videos, but finally found the perfect track to premiere the very talented arranger and keyboardist he is!

But wait, I CAN'T go without saying what an honor it is to welcome my first lead vocalist to my channel, Julia Henderson! I first found out about Julia during VGMTogether, and have since been in awe of her exceptional singing, musicianship, and super clean and balanced mix work for big projects in the community. I had a blast meeting Julia at MAGFest and hanging out there every year and also our occasional playing Mario Kart sessions on discord. I was so hyped she was able to sing on this track which added so much dimension where I wouldn't have even imagined!
