I believe in having every advantage possible, when it comes to my home defense firearm setup. With that being said, I think the ultimate home defense setup is a suppressed short-barreled rifle. The question, then, comes down to caliber choice. Do you go with a 9mm Pistol Caliber Carbine or do you go with a rifle caliber, specifically .300 Blackout? They both perform well out of shorter barrels, which means you can keep an overall compact form factor and they both suppress really well, especially if you choose the subsonic ammunition.
