Travelling Jordan in Ramadan: Peace, Culture, and Community

Travelling through Jordan during Ramadan was one of the most meaningful trips I’ve ever taken. My friend and I explored Amman, Jerash, the Dead Sea, Wadi Rum, Wadi Numeyra, and Aqaba, and each place had its own energy, its own beauty, and its own stories.

We started in Amman, taking in the city’s Ramadan atmosphere, the food, the call to prayer at sunset, and the mix of history and everyday life. In Jerash, we wandered through ancient Roman streets and huge stone columns that felt almost untouched by time.

Floating in the Dead Sea was surreal. It’s one of those experiences that doesn’t feel real until you’re actually there. From there, we headed into the vast red desert of Wadi Rum, met our Bedouin host, and spent a night in a cave under a sky full of stars.

One of the wildest parts of the trip was canyoning in Wadi Numeyra. It took us through tight canyons, rushing water, and some of the most unique landscapes we’ve ever seen. We wrapped up the journey in Aqaba, slowing things down, enjoying the Red Sea, and soaking in the calm after days of adventure.

Experiencing Jordan during Ramadan added so much meaning to the trip. The hospitality, the quiet moments before iftar, and the sense of community everywhere we went made this journey unforgettable.
