Transparent Soap Base Making Method – Step-by-Step
Ingredients:
Glycerin (Vegetable grade)
Coconut oil or Palm oil
Sorbitol
Propylene Glycol
Stearic Acid
Caustic Soda (NaOH) – for saponification
Sugar syrup (optional for extra clarity)
Distilled Water
Alcohol (Ethanol or Isopropyl – helps in transparency)
Method:
Saponification:
Heat coconut oil and slowly add a caustic soda solution (NaOH + water) with constant stirring. Let the saponification process complete until it forms a thick soap paste.
Transparency Phase:
Add glycerin, propylene glycol, and sorbitol to the paste. Stir and cook gently to dissolve everything thoroughly.
Clarity Boost:
Add sugar syrup and alcohol gradually while heating at a low flame. These ingredients dissolve the soap crystals and improve transparency.
Final Cooking:
Continue heating until the mixture becomes fully clear. Make sure there's no cloudiness. Do not overheat.
Molding:
Pour the hot transparent mixture into molds. Let it cool and solidify.
Cut and Pack:
Once solid, cut into blocks and wrap them air-tight to preserve moisture.
