Welcome to the heavy spoilers show I'm your host Paul and this video we're breaking down why the ending of The Penguin was perfect.
Closing out with the rise of the villain it really brings everything full circle. I know a lot of people are shocked at how its gone, but personally I think that ending was perfect. The Penguins one of comics most famous villains and it was only ever gonna go one way.
Now what this also is is a story of the class struggle. Not only in terms of him rising through the ranks of the mob, but also just in general. Looking at Oz's childhood, he was basically the runt of the litter. Describing what he has as a bum knee, Oz shouldnt have succeeded in life.
However, what hes done is never let that hold him back.
Oz is someone who refuses to to be weak and this is something we see in every walk of life. If you cast your mind back to Episode 1 there was a great moment when they got on the subway. Oz looked at the empty disabled seats and he refused to sit down.
This told us everything we needed to know and how determined he was to prove people wrong.
Throughout the season hes killed and taken people out who have slighted or distrespected him.
This all began with Alberto who he murdered for calling him the penguin.
In his childhood he also killed his brothers. Inside the episode explained that he did this because he felt slighted as his brothers knew he couldnt go down there. This disrespect is also why he betrayed Sofia as well.
After warning her about talking to a journalist we watched as she mocked him and called him the penguin.
