Members resumed questioning Judge Alito on his nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court with a third round of questioning by members. Among the topics addressed in questioning were the role of the judiciary, powers of the executive branch in times of peace and war, abortion rights and privacy, his experience and activity in prior federal court cases and decisions. Several questions also focused on his prior involvement with an organization named Concerned Alumni for Princeton, potential past conflicts of interest in cases, and his opinions of past court cases.
