A reformulated version of the The Blackwells, a group from Laytonville, California who recorded material up through 1965 or so. This recording, from 1967 features production by Dick Glasser, and an arrangement by Al Capps. Member DeWayne Blackwell was a well known songwriter with many credits to his name, notably "Mr. Blue" by the Fleetwoods, and "Friends In Low Places" by Garth Brooks, just to name two famous, widely known examples. Here, the group perfectly executes dreamy late 60's pop, with what sound to me like members of the "Wrecking Crew", or top notch session musicians at that time on the Los Angeles scene. Hope you enjoy!
