Challenge To Win - Fun Facts and Brief History

A short and interesting video I thought of making since I'm really inactive on YouTube.

Hello guys, it’s Blue Planet here, uhh obviously, and today I have prepared another uninteresting video that is not an animation! You must be so happy because of that! Right? Good, it’s time for you to find out fun facts about your favorite object show!

The show originates from a site “scratch.mit.edu”, where I created a project called “Challenge to win SIGN-UP”, where I explained how the show works and users had to send me their character so it could participate, me being unknown at the time, only 2 users made characters, the first character made was Yellow Spider by the Scratch user Whitey999, and to be honest I think he doesn’t even watch the show, and Umbrella, which was created by my Daniel [Xnabber]. And nobody else signed up so I made the rest of the characters, you can notice that I wasn’t really creative because you have characters like Fat Alien, Blue Planet, like what was in my 11 years old head, and there’s Asteroid, which doesn’t look like an Asteroid, this is how he should look. Here are the oldest drawings of the characters.
The first episode was published on September 20th, 2012, I was 11 years now at the time, which means that Challenge To Win is 6 years old and I am 17 years old. I’m happy I didn’t die.
The original prize for the show was a beach, but it was changed to a magic lamp which grants 3 wishes. The production of the first episode was so unorganized that the prize wasn’t even mentioned, only on later episodes when the contestants would ask Blue Planet, and he’d answer with something like, you will find out on the final episode.
Yellow Spider is the character with the most voice actors, he had 4 different voice actors during the show. On episodes 1-5 I voice acted him. On episodes 6-8 he was voice acted by ArekzWaku. On episodes 10,11,13,15,16,17,18 by GustaBoy. And on episodes 9,12,14,19 and 20 he was voice acted by WhoIsTheGuy.
The contestants who had the voice actor for the entire show were: Asteroid, Banana, Blue Planet, Candy Cane, Hammer and Star.
Daniel [Xnabber] helped animate for all the episodes except episode 19, which was entirely animated by me.
Challenge To Win Episode 10 was animated twice because my computer was formatted and I lost all progress, at that time I was really edgy and I said I would cancel Challenge To Win, but I eventually remade the episode, and I was really proud of it! Now I am obviously not, it turned out as a very cringy episode.
The average episode takes 1 month and a half to be made, episodes are always released a lot later because the start of the production takes the longest. So basically it’s not because of school, it was because I was too lazy to start the production, but once it started, it was fast.
In episodes, you could notice a lot of grammatical and spelling mistakes, making this show helped me a lot improve my english, from episode 12, each episode had more writers and Mat2468xk being one, he’d always repair my grammar mistakes. And also Hammer spelled muscles “muscles”, that’s pretty stupid coming from me. Also episodes 1-5 weren’t even scripted, I’d think of a scene, voice act it and then animate it.
Another stupid fun fact was that on episode 1, after Asteroid and Camera picked the members for their teams, in the next scene they had different members… This is how they picked the teams, and this was their teams on the next scene.
The most used text fonts on the show were Shady Lane and Headline No. 45.
All the episodes from season 1 combined are 3:37:07 long.

Oh, you want a fun fact about Challenge To Win Season 2? Ok. Here’s a fun fact! Episode 2 might never come out.

Thank you guys for watching! It was very interesting for me to look back at Challenge To Win, it shows how I grew up and my evolution in animation, script writing, voice acting, and as a person in general! As always, I would like to thank the community that supported me making this show, even if most episodes were bad. I really liked my childhood where I created this show. Another game is coming out on Christmas, and maybe I will post more content, I really want to, see you guys soon!
