One of the coldest times in hip hop was when we still had groups and posses in the mix representing an important idea and truth about success. No one does it on their own. Cash Money came together in the 90s and made one of the biggest groups in hip hop history. Juve, Lil Wayne, Turk and BG all had solo talent, and a serious label owner to back them in Bryan "Baby" Williams and his brother Slim. Juve and BG were the first to gain local fame, while lil Wayne at just 13 years old was soaking up knowledge and waiting his moment in the spotlight, which would come sooner than he expected. Juvenile left the group in the early 2000s and from there members began to leave the group, like BG and Turk. Both ended up having issues with the law and doing extended jail time. Wayne was left to carry the torch for the label and stepped right into position, becoming a star. The Hot Boys would never be the same again for these reasons.
