Clinical case - Dural venous sinus thrombosis and cortical venous thrombosis with infarct

Consider this condition when there is infarct in a non arterial location and there where is cortical or peripheral haemorrhage to go along with it.
This condition can present variably and can be well, have headache, nausea, vomiting, or can present in an unconscious coma.
Risk factors include:
Women on the OCP.
hormonal - pregnancy, steroids, hyperthyroidism
haematological conditions - protein S deficiency and polycythaemia
systemic illness - dehydration, sepsis, malignancy
local factors - infections or head injury such as skull fractures
Management includes - anticoagulation
Interventions to consider - catheter thrombolysis
