Distribution of dry ration packs for vulnerable families in Colombo and suburban areas took place from October 2020 , when the second wave of the Covid19 pandemic struck the nation, up until to February 2021. Muslim Aid's efforts to assemble and distribute dry ration packs continues to take place. The documentary follows our journey throughout this mission where we worked with the support of religious leaders from the Buddhist, Christian, Hindu and Muslim clergies.
The distributions are a part of Muslim Aid's Covid19 emergency relief campaign. Through the efforts of staff, volunteers, donors and well-wishers, the campaign has reached almost 8000 families who are struggling through the pandemic. These are daily wage earning families, who are now extremely vulnerable, facing poverty and starvation.
