Sorry, no funny instrument names this time, because the song has no instruments wtf???????

They're hosting a blank module contest in the Furnace Discord and I thought I'd give it a shot. That means no instruments, no samples, no wavetables. Everything's done through pattern effects. I wrote down this song that I've had stuck in my head for a year and a half. I haven't been making much stuff due to lack of time, but that's been temporarily solved thanks to a small big accident and a broken leg...

The theme of my song is the situation where you've lost something that you absolutely need and you desperately need to find it, because you'll otherwise be late for whatever it is that you gotta do. Spoiler: You did not catch the bus, consider cleaning up your mess so it doesn't happen again.

I didn't try to polish every single thing, and it's still kinda difficult to balance parts of the sound when you can't use instruments and can't change the drum samples. The ones I'm using are presets from the YM2608, and the top hi hat sample has kind of a jarring sound to it. For the instrumentation, I resorted to delaying some of the channels to try to reduce some of the nasty peaks when there's a lot of key-ons at the same time.

The reason the chip setup is so complicated is so I could achieve stereo, and so I could organize the channels in a way I like. You can probably play this on hardware with a really complicated setup. Furnace iz da future!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!! ! ! ! ! !!!! !
