Landgoed Ampsen is a beautiful estate in the Achterhoek region of the Netherlands, covering 680 hectares. At its heart lies Castle Ampsen, a stately 17th-century building that has remained in the same family for generations. With the help of volunteers and sustainable management, both the castle and estate are preserved to this day.
Walking through the estate is a peaceful experience:
Forests, farmlands, meadows and heathland scattered throughout the landscape.
Wildlife such as roe deer, foxes, countless bird species, and even a herd of mouflons.
Characteristic farmhouses with shutters in white-blue diagonal patterns and a dark green edge.
On this sunny summer afternoon we wandered across the estate, passing three small heath fields in search of mouflons, and finally returned along Castle Ampsen itself.
Filmed in 4K with the Canon EOS R7 and the 18–150mm lens.
