El Capitan March virtually played by the Clovis Community Band is under the direction of Dan Lindstrom. El Capitan is an operetta in three acts by John Philip Sousa and has a libretto by Charles Klein. The piece was Sousa's first successful operetta and his most successful stage work. The march "El Capitan" became a standard work both for brass bands and a crossover into other genres. The Clovis Community Band is part of the Clovis Unified School District's Continuing Community Education Program through the Clovis Unified Adult School. Until we're able to meet again in a group environment again, we will continue doing these weekly performances.
