We purchased the EcoFlow Delta 2 battery with their 800W Alternator Charger a few months back after it became apparent that our Goal Zero Yeti 500x and Goal Zero Solar panel were not going to be adequate for our future trips. We weren't planning on buying an alternator charger for our portable power system, but after seeing this charger on sale with the battery we ran a few numbers... and it turns out this type of system is an excellent alternative to mounting solar panels on the roof of the camper.

The Alternator Charger basically cost the same as a 200W solar panel. For that panel to charge this battery it would require more than 5 hours of perfect sunlight. This Alternator Charger will accomplish the same task in less than an hour and a half. Plus the sun doesn't have to shine for it to work.

There are many more technical videos out there on Youtube about this product (we encourage you to watch a few before buying), so we decided to focus on the process of getting one of these chargers installed in our truck bed. Many of the concepts discussed here could apply to any project that requires getting power to the truck bed (not just Ecoflow specific).
