North Rim Grand Canyon Hikes and Roads
First, we visit the Grand Canyon National Park and see the North Rim visitors center and hike the nearby trails. Not a lot of people during our hikes here, however, we wanted more solitude, so we go off in search of more desolate hikes.
While camping a Demotte Campground in Kaibab National Forest, we notice a forest fire directly across from our campgrounds. The local fire crews worked the fire all night and eventually put it out. Thanks, everyone!
We then drive our, "Pepe the Prius" down a network of forest roads, stumbling on a fire lookout post, and eventually make it to our destination of Timp Point. We hike from Timp Point to North Timp Point and only see one other couple on the trail. Amazing!
We love camping and hiking off-season. We literally were the last campers at our campground before the caretakers shut it down for the winter season. The last date you can stay is October 15.
