This study employs a mixed-methods approach combining survey and interview data to explore privacy, security, and usability in smart-home adoption. A structured Microsoft Forms survey collected quantitative ratings and open-ended reflections from participants. To complement these findings, a semi-structured interview protocol was developed to capture personal narratives about trust, risk perception, and daily device management. Questions were open-ended and sequenced from usage habits to ethical reflection, aligning with Jacob & Furgerson’s (2012) conversational model. This design provided both measurable trends and deeper qualitative insights into how users experience connected-home technologies.
