Walnutport, PA - Early Saturday afternoon a mountain fire was reported on the mountain at the Lehigh Gap Nature Center in Walnutport, PA. Fire crews were alerted to a fire on the mountain this afternoon and with dry drought conditions the fire began rapidly spreading. Forestry crews worked throughout the day and into the night with water drops were being performed by helicopter up until the sun set and will resume in the morning hours tomorrow. As of tonight 11pm tonight, spot fires continue to pop up and are now threatening local homes at the bottom of the mountain.
