This is how to build minimal metal table legs from a flat bar. It is a great way to save money as these things tend to cost quite a bit. I built two of them with around 10€ (vs. 90€ if purchased from my local hardware store).
There is definitely room for improvement. For example, I should have used a stronger hinge for the bending jig.
The only downside to this type of legs is that they are not very stable due to a lack of cross braces. The table rocks from side to side pretty heavily. My solution to combat this was to attach the whole table to the wall with four small angle brackets.
