Description of Post -

So, I (25M) matched with this girl (23F) on Hinge.
From her photos, she looked exactly like the kind of person you’d want to hang out with tall, slim, cute, funny, great sense of humour.
We started talking and hit it off pretty well. She seemed chill, witty, and honestly, I enjoyed talking to her.

If I had to describe myself, I’d say I’m a MID, around 6/10, 5’11”, lean, sarcastic, jolly, and kinda gora (light-skinned).
After about a month of talking, we added each other on Instagram. I stalked her a bit there too and she looked beautiful in every post.

Eventually, we decided to meet.
I live in Gurgaon and she’s from West Delhi, but one day she was visiting relatives nearby, so we planned that I’d pick her up and we’d go out for dinner.

Now here’s where things changed.
When she came out she looked nice, dressed really well (white satin top, black trousers, overall solid effort)… but her skin tone was noticeably darker than in her photos.
I know this sounds shallow or maybe even racist, but at that moment, I just kinda knew it wasn’t going to work for me physically.

Still, I went through with the date because I genuinely respect people’s time and effort.
We had great food, chatted a lot, and I dropped her home safely. It wasn’t awkward or anything in fact, it was a nice evening.

Over the next few days, we kept texting normally. But then she started sending me those cute couple reels, love meme stuff, and I realized this was going somewhere I didn’t want it to.
So, I decided to be upfront and told her:

“Hey, we had a great time and I enjoy talking to you, but I don’t think we’re a long-term match. Just wanted to give you a heads-up so you don’t start catching feelings.”

I didn’t tell her the real reason (the skin tone thing) because that just felt unnecessarily hurtful.
She didn’t reply after that, and we haven’t talked since.
