HOW TO TONE DOWN Bright and Distracting Bokeh in Portrait Backgrounds

How many times have I said "your eye will travel to the brightest part of an image"? Lots! The problem is that most of the time, bright background bokeh can be the main eye-draw in stunning photographs. You don't want to remove the fluffy beautiful circles, but you probably could to with assessing the balance of brightness to ensure the viewer's eye goes straight to the subject first. To do that, I tend to use this quick technique to tone the light down a touch whilst still retaining fluffiness! You don't have to do it, you don't have to do it this way, but if you're printing work BIG, this is a vital skill to have in your toolkit 🤓
