This type of lock reminds me of security by obscurity. The strange keyway itself is enough to have most lock pickers scratching their head.
While not the most secure lock I have had come through my lock shack, it does require me get creative just to tension it.
My one concern is this.
I would like to see more more sliders or locking plates contain false gates.
I removed each plate very carefully to check them and slid them back in and only found one plate to have a false gate.
