About the Choral Chameleon Summer Institute:
The participating composers from both inside and outside the US, of varying career stages, are encouraged to take risks and the results are always interesting. Many of the composers have arrived 8 days prior with only an idea, or a text, or mere sketches as the starting point.
The high hands-on ratio of mentor to pupil, coupled with multiple rounds of reading sessions with the choir, incorporating feedback and revisions, creates an unmatched and intensive-yet-nurturing creative process.
The Choral Chameleon Ensemble are highly skilled readers of music who can bring up to 12 new pieces to life during this 8-day iterative process.
