ശശി തരൂരും സയന്സും തമ്മിലെന്ത്? Shashi Tharoor and the pseudoscience of 'Cardiac coherence'

Hon.MP, Sashi Tharoor recently posted this in in social media: "Detailed description of the benefits of the 2500-year-old Indian technique of pranayama, dressed up in 21st c. scientific language as "cardiac coherence breathing"! It's taking the West a few millennia to learn what our ancients taught us millennia ago, but hey, you're welcome. "
There are many problems in this note, and I briefly discuss two of hem:
1: The idea that some people who inhabited India thousands of years back have amassed all knowledge about nature and all that modern 'western' science does nowadays is to rediscover that knowledge, is contrary to what we now understand about the way humans acquire valid knowledge about nature. Mr. Sashi's statement reveals his lack of scientific temper. He stands out as a typical 'reactionary modernist', simultaneously enjoying (even valorising) the benefits and convenience s of modern S&T, and keeping away from scientific temper.(What a pity for a person who extols Jawaharlal Nehru in his speeches!)
2:His understanding that "Cardiac coherence breathing" is "21st century scientific language" is all wrong. It is just a fancy term popularised by certain commercial entities, since at least 1991. The pseudoscientific idea of 'cardiac coherence' has been found baseless upon scientific investigation, too.
