Surah Sajdah Full | Sheikh Yasser al Dossary | Voices of Haram

In the blessed dawn of Friday, within the sacred walls of Masjid al-Haram, the voice of Sheikh Yasser Al Dossary rises — carrying the timeless words of Surah As-Sajdah, just as the Prophet ﷺ would recite it in the Fajr Salah on Fridays. On 14 Safar 1447 AH, the Sunnah was revived once again, reminding the Ummah of the profound connection between this surah and the Day of Judgment.

Surah As-Sajdah unveils the reality of our creation, the certainty of resurrection, and the destiny of both the believers and those who deny the truth. It calls the heart to humility, urging it to fall in prostration before the Lord of the worlds. This is the surah where the sajdah is not just in name, but in action — a physical and spiritual submission to Allah ﷻ.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would recite Surah As-Sajdah and Surah Al-Insaan in the Fajr prayer of Friday, reminding the believers of the creation of man, his journey in this world, and the eternal life that follows. This blessed Sunnah is a weekly renewal of faith, hope, and preparation for the Hereafter.

Arabic Text (Full Surah):
الم
تَنْزِيلُ الْكِتَابِ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهِ مِنْ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ افْتَرَاهُ بَلْ هُوَ الْحَقُّ مِنْ رَبِّكَ لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّا أَتَاهُم مِّن نَّذِيرٍ مِّن قَبْلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَهْتَدُونَ
اللَّهُ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى الْعَرْشِ ۚ مَا لَكُم مِّن دُونِهِ مِن وَلِيٍّ وَلَا شَفِيعٍ ۚ أَفَلَا تَتَذَكَّرُونَ

English Translation:
Alif, Lam, Meem.
The revelation of the Book — there is no doubt in it — is from the Lord of the worlds.
Or do they say, “He has fabricated it”? Rather, it is the truth from your Lord, so that you may warn a people to whom no warner had come before you, that they may be guided.
It is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in six Days, then He rose over the Throne. You have no protector or intercessor besides Him. Will you not then remember?

Roman Urdu Translation:
Alif, Laam, Meem.
Ye Kitaab ka nazool — is mein koi shak nahi — Rabbul Aalameen ki taraf se hai.
Kya ye kehte hain ke usne ise gadh liya hai? Balki ye tumhare Rab ki taraf se sach hai, taake tum aise logon ko darao jin ke paas tumse pehle koi daraane wala nahi aaya, taake woh hidayat paaen.
Allah hi hai jisne aasmaano aur zameen ko aur jo kuch inke darmiyan hai, chhe dinon mein paida kiya, phir Arsh par istiwa فرمایا. Tumhaare liye uske siwa na koi madadgar hai na koi sifaarish karne wala. Kya tum naseehat nahi lete?

Reflection:
On this blessed Friday morning, as the believers stood in prayer, the echoes of Surah As-Sajdah reminded them of where they came from, where they are going, and Who they will meet. This surah is a journey — from creation to resurrection, from heedlessness to remembrance, from pride to humble prostration. The sajdah it contains is an invitation: leave behind the noise of the world, bow before your Lord, and prepare for the day when every soul will be called to account.
