Pat Curren Balsa Waimea Bay Elephant Gun Surfboard - Coming to Auction!

Pat Curren's iconic "elephant guns" were not just surfboards; they were tools of exploration, pushing the boundaries of what was thought possible in surfing and cementing his legend as both a master craftsman. This board is 10' 7" and an incredible example of his 1959 weapons. Built in the late 1990's for renowned collector Tom Peck, this board is balsa and features six redwood sticks and Peck had his friend Curren laminate with Volan cloth (notice the rail lap cut line). The board also features a red wood tailblock and era correct fin. Curren's signature is on the deck. This lot also includes the mounted and signed image of Curren shot during the creation of this very board. 🌊🏄‍♂️✨
