FM Einheit (Einsturzende Neubauten) Interview - April 25, 1993

Interview with Einsturzende Neubauten member, FM Einheit with Cage23 (of Industrial Nation magazine) at The Trocadero, Philadelphia on April 25, 1993 during the Tabula Rasa album tour. Footnote: Incidentally, this date was the infamous cancelled Philly show on the tour. Earlier in the day, I was witness to Blixa storming out of the venue during sound check. Apparently, the promoter had not delivered on the band’s requested PA system for the show.

Rumor got out that they might not play and in fact, at minute 18 during the interview you can hear a girl yelling; pleading for the band to play, after which a spool of cassette tape flew through the open dressing room window and landed on the floor between me and FM Einheit!

Later, that afternoon, myself and a friend from Mute Records had to “escape” from the Trocadero through a backdoor and down an alley as people out front were very agitated about the show being cancelled and were yelling at us for answers… An interview lest not forgotten! :)
