A little railfanning in the Milton/Janesville area 10 years ago OTD. First up, we follow the Wisconsin and Southern mixed freight train T004 as it finishes up switching at Milton Junction and heads to Janesville where it has more work at the siding between M-H Town Line Road and Rotamer Road. SD40-2s WSOR 4002 and 4007 bracket ex-C&O SD40M-2 WSOR 4078.
Over at the Pearl Street crossing by the roundhouse, we catch a busy moment as the yard job Y303 backs their power (SD40-2s WSOR 4004 and 4012) across, while a ballast regulator crosses on one of the nearer tracks, and a worker uses a "jet pack" blower to clear debris from the crossing.
