Gáldar Is a municipality and large town in northen Gran Canaria, Canary Islands, Spain. Galdar is an ancient town. It used to be inhabited by natives to Gran Canaria before the spanish conquest and they have left behind some important archeological sites such as the painted caves which are found in Gáldar. The population is 26,000 people, one of the larger towns in North Gran Canaria. It’s a 25 minute drive from Gáldar to the Capital, Las Palmas.
The town of Gáldar is really beautiful with its large cathedral and courtyard. There is a municipal market held every day where you can buy local produce from the area around Gáldar.
