CJ2A Willys Jeep Driveshaft Oil Seal & Dust Cap

How to install Willys Jeep Driveshaft Oil Seal & Dust Cap on a CJ2A Jeep. This process is the same for both the front and rear driveshaft. These two components keep the dust from entering the splines that attach the slip yoke and propeller shaft together. Push on the oil seal and dust cap onto slip yoke and bend taps on the dust cap to secure.

NOTE - ensure the slip yoke is in line with the prop shaft when rebuilding driveshaft.

During the harsh winter months in Canada we decided to take the Willys apart, fix a few parts, and get it back on the road. Then repeat this the next winter. During the winter of 2021 we rebuilt the brakes and basic engine upgrades (spark plugs, water pump, distributor, ignition coil, etc.). THIS winter of 2022 we are tackling to replace the transmission and transfercase but finding lots of other problems deep within the engine.
