Ragi Roti is a simple, healthy, and gluten-free Indian flatbread made from nutrient-rich finger millet flour. Packed with flavour and goodness, this recipe combines ragi flour with coconut, onions, and spices, creating a delightful and wholesome dish. Perfect for those looking for a nutritious alternative to traditional roti.
Ingredients:
500 grams Ragi Flour
Salt to taste
1 cup Grated Coconut
2 medium-sized Onions, finely chopped
Few Curry Leaves, finely chopped
2-3 Green Chillies, finely chopped
Oil for stir-frying
Water as needed
Instructions:
1. In a wide bowl, combine ragi flour, grated coconut, finely chopped onions, curry leaves, green chillies, and salt. Mix well.
2. Gradually add water to the mixture, stirring continuously, until a soft and slightly sticky dough is formed.
3. Divide the dough into balls.
4. Grease a foil or butter paper with oil and place a dough ball on it. Use your fingers to spread the dough into a round roti. If needed, wet or oil your fingers for easier spreading.
5. Heat a pan with 1 tsp oil over medium heat. Place the roti on the pan and pour 1 tsp of oil over it. Cook until the roti firms up, then flip and fry on the other side until done.
6. Stack the cooked rotis and cover to keep them soft.
7. Serve the ragi rotis with chutney, honey, or powdered jaggery.
