After Madara Uchiha was brought back to life using the Edo Tensei (resurrection of the dead) and began threatening the world with his "Infinite Tsukuyomi" plan, Sasuke decided to seek the "true answer" to the meaning of the village, the ninja, betrayal, and everything that happened to the Uchiha clan. To find this answer, he decided to revive the previous Hokage (the first four) to ask them about the past, specifically how Konoha was founded and why the Uchiha were exterminated.
