Them Changes - Buddy Miles (Drum Cover)

This video is a drum cover of the Buddy Miles song "Them Changes" off of his album by the same name recorded in 1970 by his band the Buddy Miles Express. This is the original and most influential version of the tune.

Buddy Miles, Jimi Hendrix and Billy Cox were the members of the legendary trio Band of Gypsys. Rumor has it that Jimi dissolved the band after only a few shows, leaving Buddy heartbroken and without a gig. As a result of this change, he put his own band together, then wrote and recorded his most famous song - Them Changes.

Them Changes is definitely one of my favorite songs of the 1970's with Buddy Miles on drums and lead vocals. The tune right from the start has a great driving beat with a lot of energy, a deep funky pocket, and some very cool guitar riffs.

DRUMS: Bob is playing a DW Collectors Series Cherry Drum Kit, Ludwig 5x14" Snare Drum, Zildjian, Paiste & Byzance Cymbals. Bob is using Vic Firth "Dave Weckl" Evolution sticks. Drums heads are Remo Clear Emperors on the toms, Ambassador Coated on the snare batter head, Remo on the batter side and Evans on the front of the bass drum. Tanden Drops to muffle the drums.

DRUM MIX: Drum mics are Shure SM57 on top and bottom of the snare drum, Sennheiser e600's on the toms and a Shure Beta 52A inside the kick, with a DW Moon Mic on the outside of the kick.
