I have had four ZTR's in the past and my favorite was the DixonPro, no longer made. I replaced the Dixon with a Bad Boy Maverick and I did not like the Maverick. It had the Honda injected engine and I thought it was under powered. Maybe I did not give it enough chance as I only made one cut with it and I never contacted the dealer. A good friend talked me into the Toro Titian. I used the Titian alast summer and I still wanted a JD and when one cam on the market I bought it. Here are my observations. Yours may be different. The good parts. JD: A little faster than the Toro. More goodies like lights and roll bar. Easy to read digital fuel gauge. Easy access to deck belts. Zerk fittings in deck spindles (Maybe not an issue). Toro: Much more quiet than the JD. Smaller size. Myride seat. Duskujes. JD: loud. Rough ride. Taller in the saddle. Stamped deck. Toro: Sealed deck spindle bearings. No lights. Sluggish rear drive, like it has to spool up to reverse, and when you are cutting you do not like any delay in reverse.
