While this was a few months ago and I thought I had accidentally deleted these videos, I found them and here they are!
Over the summer after our kitchen sub floor was finally finished we decided to remove all of the drywall and start fresh. Honestly it sucked but I’m so glad we did it. Through that process we discovered a lot of old water damage, moldy drywall, and moldy insulation. As well as a few (abandon) bee hives 🙃.
We also found that our walls didn’t have enough studs in them. When the house was build most of the structural support came from that wooden ship lap, which we had to remove in order to access everything we needed to fix.
Once that was removed we found that a lot of the studs we thought we had in the walls didn’t actually run floor to ceiling. Majority of them were old door and window frames that had been changed over the years.
Once we got our stud issue corrected we were able to start fresh with new insulation, new cement board, and move onto tile!
