Uwe Boll is known to many people as the worst movie director ever. Although his career began in the 90s, it wasn't until he began adapting video games into movies that he came into true infamy. His films became the subject of frequent mockery on comedy websites, movie websites and forums, with the criticism often turned more towards Uwe as a person than his films.

After his third video game movie, Bloodrayne, was destroyed by critics, he had had enough. Uwe officially challenged his critics to fight him in an IRL boxing match at an event dubbed "Raging Boll." Five men accepted: Lowtax of Something Awful, Jeff Sneider of Ain't It Cool News, Chris Alexander of Rue Morgue, Carlos Palencia of Cinecutre and an amateur boxer named Chance Minter.
