Total Recall is Abby and Toy's second Paul Verhoeven movie reaction. Toy has watched Robocop with Hannah and Max for our 2000 subscribers celebration. It was a supremely fun video to record and she could not wait to watch Total Recall with Abby.
Toy and Abby have watched Starship Troopers before. Hannah and Tori had also recorded a couple of Paul Verhoeven movie reactions before, to both Starship Troopers and Total Recall.
"Total Recall," directed by Paul Verhoeven and released in 1990, is a classic sci-fi action film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. Set in a dystopian future, the movie follows construction worker Douglas Quaid (Arnold Schwarzenegger), who is plagued by recurring dreams of Mars. Seeking answers, he visits Rekall Inc., a company that implants false memories for a vacation experience. However, the procedure goes awry, and Quaid discovers that his entire life may be a fabricated memory.
As Quaid uncovers the truth, he realizes he is actually a secret agent named Hauser, who has been working against the corrupt Martian government led by the villainous Vilos Cohaagen (Ronny Cox). Joined by rebel fighter Melina (Rachel Ticotin), Quaid embarks on a mission to overthrow Cohaagen and uncover the secrets of his past.
