Before I came here, I ignored all thoughts of culture shock, language barriers and jet lag because I feel fine with little sleep, I love learning German, and I'm interested in new culture. but it wasn't what I expected, I'm shocked by they way people behave because it doesn't feel like I'm learning a new culture, the language barrier isn't just a learning opportunity, it's also a barrier that makes interacting with people just hard enough that I feel antisocial and isolated. I know things will improve and I have many interesting experiences lined up for me but I should have prepared more for a little disappointment and adaptation.
